Portico supports the ability to indicate a transaction was processed in Store and Forward (SAF) mode. This functionality should be used when a point of sale is unable to process transactions online, typically due to a network connection issue. Transactions are stored or spooled in the point of sale system; once the point of sale is back online, the stored transactions should be forwarded to Portico.
In the transaction request header, the SAF data block allows a merchant to set a Store and Forward Indicator as well as the date and time when the transaction was originally initiated.
The FindTransactions report allows a merchant to search for transactions processed with the SAFIndicator populated.
